Hardware Support


CIM-Data Hardware Support provides warrantee and ongoing maintenance of hardware purchased from CIM-Data.


CIM-Data Value Added Warrantee

In addition to manufacturers’ warrantees, CIM-Data endeavours to provide free replacement of defective new hardware from our own stock, when available, for 30 days after purchase. CIM-Data will assume shipping costs for both the replacement and defective items. Before the initial 30 day period is completed, customers should decide upon, and arrange for, one of the following four service options:

Time and Material Hardware Support

CIM-Data will provides all required hardware support services and parts. The customer must provide a signed purchase order for the work to be done or parts to be serviced or replaced. Where components may be repairable or replaceable or be covered under warrantee, CIM-Data may offer a swap price on a replacement item. CIM-Data may use surplus parts from our own spare parts inventory or may need to order parts in.

Depot Maintenance Contract

The customer enters into an annual hardware maintenance contract which covers the cost of replacement parts and repair labour. CIM-Data maintains an inventory of parts for contract customers. The customer is responsible for shipping equipment to CIM-Data or may alternatively provide a signed purchase order for an onsite visit by a technician.

Onsite Maintenance Contract

The customer will sign an annual hardware maintenance contract which covers the cost of replacement parts and travel by a technician to the customer’s site. Onsite customers have a priority in parts allocation.

Priorities

Occasionally, we must decide who, between two or more customers will receive support first. Our prioritization is
1. Onsite Contract
2. Depot Contract
3. 30 Day Warrantee
4. Time and Material
5. Warrantee

Our Minimum Recommendation:

The minimum service level we recommend is at least a Depot Hardware Service Agreement on the server. This will cover the cost of replacement parts and help us make sure we have a stock of parts and trained technicians available if you ever need them.

Complete Protection

To experience the minimum down time, an Onsite Hardware Service Agreement on all computers, printers, modems, etc. is recommended. You receive priority before all other customers and will receive immediate attention. This service is only available within 150km of Mississauga.

Disaster Planning

In the worst case scenario where your office is totally destroyed by fire or other incident, you will need replacement systems immediately. CIM-Data has loaner systems available on standby and can be supplied on a rental basis. We can setup a complete server and small set of workstations in an emergency to allow you to continue basic functionality on a moment's notice.
