zFiler Backup Manager
We say it over and over again, "You can never have too many backups".
The CIM-Data Backup Manager provides an easy way to set up manual or
automatic database and other backups using NTBackup.exe, the native
backup utility built into Windows NT/2000/XP/2003. Backup Manager is
compatible with a number of tape formats, CD and DVD, USB Drives, and
other backup media.
DataCopy
In addition to regular backups, the Backup Manager can also make
database copies. This is simply a copy of the database stored in a
separate partition. Since tapes or other backup media can be taken
offsite and be unavailable, or the wrong backup media can be returned,
if the need ever arises to restore from a backup, restoring from a data
copy is faster, simpler, more reliable, and more convenient. In
addition, multiple datacopies can be made during the day and be even be
copied to another machine or server offsite!
Automatic Backup Log Scanning
NTBackup.exe creates a long, detailed log file for each backup.
Backup Manager scans this log for warnings and Errors, summarizes backup
operations, and reports when warnings and errors occur. This can include
popup boxes, automatic display of the summarized log file, or automatic
printing of the summarized log file. Backup events are included in the
server's event log.
