Ontario: CCR Status from a recent INC Bulletin

The project implementation has been delayed as a result of the government's delay in introducing the required legislation and subsequent regulations. The next legislative window is in the fall and the industry is hoping for introduction then, although there has not been any specific assurance to that effect.

Once legislation is passed, the roll out can begin. Full implementation, that is, access by MTO for vehicle plate renewals, will be at least 6 months from then, but no specific implementation date at this point, can be provided.

A revised roll out plan will be published by IBC following further consultation with the insurers, brokers, and MTO.
