Boeckh Replacement
November
2002
Bob Hornick, President
CIM-Data, Marshall-Swift, and Compu-Quote have reached a tentative
agreement to imbed the new Marshall Swift RCT Home Evaluator in the
CIM-Data System. The arrangement builds on the long history CIM-Data has
had supporting the original IBC Calculator which was later turned over
to Boeckh as the "Boeckh Home Evaluator". The RCT calculator will be the
new industry standard instrument for calculating values of homes in
Canada. CIM-Data is pleased to announce that it will be the first Broker
Management System to implement RCT.
The implementation provides all CIM-Data users access to the RCT
Evaluation screens and data. Anyone can enter or look up information at
any time. Like the existing Boeckh system, evaluation information can be
kept on file for years.
The actual evaluation engine will reside on the server and will process
one evaluation request at a time. RCT will not have to be loaded on
individual workstations. We expect the response to be quick so that more
than one person can receive responses back on their screen within a
single moment.
CIM-Data customers have paid Boeckh a licence fee through their monthly
support fees without a price increase for the past ten years. The
increased license fee for the imbedded RCT product will again be much
less than the stand-alone RCT product and will be announced shortly,
once finalized between CQ, MS, and CIM-Data.
Compu-Quote is the prime software contractor for Marshall Swift in
Canada. CIM-Data and Compu-Quote have already had preliminary
discussions on the integration technique. CQ expects to have a first
version available by December this year. Rollout to CIM-Data customers
should commence in the first quarter of 2003.
There are still several companies that are not completely prepared for
the RCT rollover and many brokerages in Canada will not be ready with
RCT in January. Compu-Quote and Marshall-Swift are aware of this problem
but do not have advice for us to pass on as of yet. If asked, CIM-Data
customers should inform their companies that they will continue to use
the Boeckh Evaluator for the first portion of 2003, until the CQ-MS-CIM-Data
Solution is put in place. |
